John Manning AO PSM Recognised at Investiture Ceremony

ISNSW congratulates Honorary Fellow John Manning AO PSM following his recent investiture as an Officer of the Order of Australia, held at Government House on Thursday 14 May. John was recognised in the 2026 Australia Day Honours for “distinguished service to surveying, mapping and geodesy, to research and education, and to international governance roles.”

UoN School of Engineering Student Prize Presentation Night

On 13 May, the University of Newcastle School of Engineering hosted its annual Student Prize Presentation Night, recognising outstanding achievement across a range of engineering and surveying disciplines. NSW LRS Office Relocation Planned for Later This Year

NSW Land Registry Services (LRS) has advised that it will be relocating its Sydney CBD office later this year, with the move currently anticipated to take place in October or November 2026. The new office will remain within close proximity to the current premises and is intended to support LRS’s workplace structure and ongoing customer services.

Revision to Surveyor-General’s Direction No. 13 Released

A major revision to Surveyor-General’s Direction No. 13 – Aquaculture Lease Surveys has been released by DCS Spatial Services. The updated direction aligns with the Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2024 and provides clearer guidance for surveyors preparing and registering aquaculture lease survey plans.
